DCP M. Muthuraj briefing personnel on their responsibilities
Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to provide fool-proof security for the ongoing Dasara festivities, an additional Bomb and Dog Squad personnel have arrived to city.
In all, a total of 18 Anti Sabotage Check teams, 18 Dog Squads and three Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads have arrived from other States and DCP (Crime and Traffic) M. Muthuraj held a briefing session on their roles and responsibilities to the personnel at the City Police Commissioner’s Office premises in Nazarbad here yesterday.
The DCP instructed the personnel to conduct checks at City Railway Station, Bus Stands, Airport, Mysore Palace premises, Dasara Expo Grounds, Kalamandira, Scouts and Guides Grounds, Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap and other places where Dasara programmes are being held on a daily basis.
DCP Muthuraj also instructed them to conduct thorough checking at Chamundi Hill, tourist spots, hotels and other places where tourists are staying. He also instructed them to bring to the notice of higher officials if they come across any suspicious persons, explosives or weapons.
The DCP instructed the personnel of Anti Sabotage Check team, Dog Squad and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad to take steps to prevent any untoward incidents from taking place as lakhs of tourists from across the globe will arrive to witness Dasara.
DCP Muthuraj has assured the tourists and public to enjoy Dasara festivities without fear as a huge Police force has been deployed in city for security and for their safety besides stating that the Police have stepped up their vigil for the smooth conduct of Dasara festivities.
