Dasara cultural programmes at Mysore Palace, 10 other venues

Vehicle carrying a mobile troupe of artistes to go around the city

As part of Nada Habba, Dasara Cultural Programmes Sub-Committee has organised several programmes at 11 different venues across the city and also at Nanjangud from Oct. 15 to 22 in the evenings from 5.30 pm onwards, to entertain the connoisseurs of art. That apart, a vehicle carrying mobile troupe of artistes will also be rolled out during  the festival.

The 11 different venues hosting the events are: Mysore Palace premises, Jaganmohan Palace, Kalamandira, Chikkagadiyara, Town Hall, Ganabharathi, Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mini Auditorium in Kalamandira, Natana Rangamandira, RamaGovinda Rangamandira and Sri Srikanteshwara Swamy temple premises in Nanjangud.

The programmes at Mysore Palace are as follows:

Oct. 15: Nadaswara by Vid. S. Puttaraju & troupe and Yadukumar & troupe; Veerabhadra Kunita by Rajappa and Mallesh troupe; Rendition of Nada Geethe and Asthana Geethe by Vidu. B. Rashmi and troupe, Mysuru; Dance feature ‘Sri Chamundeshwari Mardini Simhavahini’ by actress Bhavana Ramanna and troupe, Bengaluru; ‘Sangeetha Yana’ by singers Ajay Warrier and ‘Jogi’ fame Sunitha and troupe, Bengaluru.

Oct. 16: Nadaswara by Puttaswamy and troupe, Mysuru; Mahila Dollu and Puja Kunita by Ramya & troupe, Mysuru; Savita Chirukunnaiah & troupe, Mandya; Tala-Gana-Yana (Classical Instrumental Ensemble) by Vid. Dr. Dundaiah Poojera; ‘Kathak Sambhrama’ by International Kathak artistes Hari and Chethana; ‘Bharatiya Nritya Vaividhya’ by Ayana Dance Company, Bengaluru.

Oct. 17: Tribal dance by Sunitha and troupe, Tribal Total Development Art Institute, Kodagu; Instrumental music – Sitar jugalbandi by Ustad Rafique Khan and Vidwan Ankush N. Nayak; ‘Nanarembudu Nanalla’ (Kannada and Kadalache Sangeetha) by Chintan Vikas, Project Exodus; Karnatak – Hindustani Flute Jugalbandi by Vidwan Shashank Subramanyam and Vidwan Rakesh Chaurasia.

Oct. 18: Bharatanatyam by Aparna Vinod Menon and troupe; ‘Kannadave Satya’ light music programme and folk songs by Dr. Kikkeri Krishnamurthy and Dr. Appagere Thimmaraju and troupe; Mass Police Band; Hindustani Classical Music by ‘Padma Shri’ Shubha Mudgal.

Oct. 19: Sangeetha Nrithya Sammilana by specially-abled artistes; Dance ballet  ‘Sri Rajarajeshwari’ by Karnataka Kalashree Vidya Ravishankar and troupe; Saxophone fusion by Vidwan Mysuru Harish Pandav and troupe; Karnataka                                       Classical Music by Vidwan T. M. Krishna, Chennai.

Oct. 20: Kavya – Kuncha Gayana by Mudigunda Murthy and troupe; Pancha Veena Vadana by Vidushi Rekha Subramanya and troupe, Bengaluru; Triveni (Odissi-Kuchipudi-Bharathanatyam) by Vidushi Sohini Bose Banerjee, West Bengal; Rasika Shekar and Kutle Khan Project Jugalbandi by Pandit Kutle Khan and Vidushi Rasika Shekar and troupe.

Oct. 21: Suryodayadinda Suryasthadavarege (Dawn to Dusk) events from 6 am to 6 pm. Karnataka Classic Flute recital by Vidwan Dr. C.A. Sridhar; Maretha Mannina Haadugalu (North Karnataka songs) by Chowdike Padagalu-fame Shilpa Mudbi; Veena-Mandolin Jugalbandi Fusion by Vidwan Rajesh Vaidya and Vidwan U. Rajesh.

Oct. 22: Theatre songs by Nisarga-Vismaya (Twin Sisters) and troupe; Jaya He Nalwadi – Haadu Habba by Nadabrahma Hamsalekha and troupe.
