A dip of 1.23 lakh visitors compared to last year
Mysuru: Dasara Flower Show at Kuppanna Park, which started on Oct. 11, came to end yesterday attracting a total of 3.12 lakh visitors in 12 days.
While the flower show had to end on Oct. 21, the contractor, after seeking permission from Horticulture Department, extended the show by a day.
This year’s theme being ‘Festival of Democracy,’ the organisers had created a floral replica of Bengaluru’s Vidhana Soudha using two lakh Red Roses, 4,000 Chrysanthemums and 25,000 green foliage inside the Glass House. This apart, a floral replica of Constitution of India book received appreciation from public.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, Department of Horticulture, Senior Assistant Director C. Naveen said that while a total of 4.35 lakh people had visited the flower show last year, this year it attracted only 3.12 lakh visitors.
