Mysuru: Citing distance, the proposed Dasara Food Mela to be held in Sathagalli here has been cancelled.

This was disclosed by Dr.K. Rameshwarappa, Deputy Director, Department of Food and Civil Supplies yesterday.

Rameshwarappa said that opinions had come from the public that Sathagalli was too far to hold the mela.

He further said that after reviewing the entries for the Food Mela to be held at Scouts and Guides Ground, a thought would be given to hold the mela at another venue.

He mentioned that it could be at the CADA (Cauvery) premises provided the Kannada Book Authority gives its nod or else it could be near Lalitha Mahal Helipad. .
