Dasara Games CM Cup – 2023: Hockey Mysore women’s team enters finals

To clash with Dakshina Kannada tomorrow

Hockey Mysore women’s team have entered the finals of the Dasara Games CM Cup-2023 Hockey tournament, organised jointly by the District Administration, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports and Karnataka Olympic Association at Chamundi Vihar Hockey Grounds in Nazarbad here.

In the first semi-final match played between Hockey Mysore and Hockey Ballari this morning, the Hockey Mysore Women’s team defeated Hockey Ballari by two goals to one to enter the finals.

In the second semi-finals between Hockey Dakshina Kannada and Hockey Bagalkot, Dakshina Kannada team                                               defeated Bagalkot by five goals to nil and will take on Hockey Mysore in the finals to take place tomorrow (Oct. 21)                                                 at 10 am.  

The match for the third place will also be played tomorrow at 7 am, where Hockey Ballari will play against Bagalkot.

Men’s Division

Hockey Dharwad will take on Hockey Coorg in the first Semi finals to be played at 2 pm today and in the second semi finals, Hockey Hassan will take on Hockey Mysore at 3.30 pm. 

The loser of the first semi final match will take on the loser of the second semi final match for the third place to be played on Oct. 21 at 8.30 am.

The winner of the first semi final match will clash with the winner of the second semi final match in the final match to be played tomorrow at 11.30 am. 

A total of eight teams — Mysore, Bagalkot, Belagavi, Hassan, Dharwad, Dakshina Kannada, Coorg (Kodagu) and Ballari took part in the Women’s Division and the teams were divided into two pools (Pool A and Pool B) with four teams in each pool.

In the Men’s Division, teams from Mysore, Ballari, Dharwad, Shivamogga, Coorg (Kodagu), Hassan, Haveri and Kalaburagi took part and these teams were also divided into Pool A and Pool B, with four teams                                              in each pool.

Previous matches Men’s Division

Hockey Mysore beat Hockey Shivamogga 4-2 on Oct. 16, defeated Hockey Ballari 2-0 on Oct. 17 and drew with Hockey Dharwad 2-2 on Oct. 19 to enter the semi finals.

Women’s Division

Hockey Mysore beat Hockey Belagavi 7-0 on Oct. 16, defeated Hockey Bagalkot 1-0 on Oct. 17 and defeated Hockey Hassan 8-0 on Oct. 18 to enter the semi finals.
