Mysuru: The Mysuru District Administration has opened online booking of Gold Cards and tickets for the various events of Mysuru Dasara 2026, nearly three weeks ahead of Nada Habba, in a move aimed at giving tourists and the public more time to plan their visit.
The early release is significant as online sales have generally opened close to the festival in previous years, leaving tourists and the tourism sector with little time to make arrangements.
The tourism sector has, in the past, expressed disappointment over the delay in releasing Dasara tickets, particularly as Mysuru witnesses a surge in visitors during and after the festival.
According to a press release issued by the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Dasara Special Officer, online booking of tickets and Gold Cards began today (Sept. 21) at 11.30 am through the official Dasara portal — mysoredasara.gov.in
The 11-day Dasara celebrations will be held from Oct. 11 to 21, with the Jumboo Savari scheduled for Oct. 21.
Ticket prices
The ticket and Gold Card prices have been retained at last year’s rates. A Gold Card costs Rs. 6,500 per person, with a booking fee of Rs. 390 and GST of Rs. 70.20, taking the total to Rs. 6,961.
Tickets for the Jumboo Savari procession are priced at Rs. 3,500 per person. With a booking fee of Rs. 280 and GST of Rs. 50.40, the total cost works out to Rs. 3,831 per ticket.
A ticket for the Torchlight Parade at Bannimantap costs Rs. 1,500, with a booking fee of Rs. 120 and GST of Rs. 21.60, taking the total to Rs. 1,642. A Drone Show ticket costs Rs. 1,000 per person, with a booking fee of Rs. 80 and GST of Rs. 14.40, taking the total to Rs. 1,095.
Gold Card holders will be able to view the Jumboo Savari from its starting point at the Mysore Palace, the Torchlight Parade at the Bannimantap Parade Grounds and the Drone Show on one day.
The Gold Card will also provide entry to Chamundi Hill, Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens (Mysuru Zoo) and the Mysore Palace. Each Gold Card or ticket will be valid for entry for only one person.
Once purchased online, physical tickets have to be collected from the ‘Spandhana Counter’ set up at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office by presenting the e-mail confirmation or mobile booking details along with any valid Government-issued ID proof.
Printed seat numbers
This year, the administration is also introducing printed seat numbers on all Gold Cards, passes and tickets. The numbers will correspond to numbered seats at the respective venues.
The move is aimed at preventing the unauthorised occupation of seats and avoiding the confusion witnessed during the previous Dasara, when some Gold Card holders reportedly found their allotted seats occupied by others.
With the seat numbers printed on the cards and tickets, the administration is expected to ensure that the allotted seating arrangement is followed. Unoccupied seats will remain vacant rather than being occupied by others, officials said.
The public and tourists have been urged to make use of the online facility and book Gold Cards and tickets only through the official Dasara portal.
