Dasara illumination, drone show posters released

September 16, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of the world-renowned Mysuru Dasara Festival 2025, the promotional poster and teaser of the grand electric illumination and drone show was officially launched by District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa at a special ceremony held at the Mysore Palace Board hall on Sunday.

As in previous years, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) will transform Mysuru into a glowing spectacle with decorative lighting across 136 kilometres of roads and 118 traffic circles. Iconic replicas and thematic installations reflecting Mysuru’s rich heritage will be set up at 80 key junctions and thoroughfares.

The lighting display will require approximately 300 kilowatts of power, totalling 2,57,520 units of electricity throughout the festival period.

Public safety advisory

The CESC has emphasised public safety during the illumination events:

1. Citizens are advised to maintain a safe distance from lighting poles and installations.

2. Avoid touching decorative setups or attempting to take selfies or videos near them.

3. Exercise extra caution during rain, especially near electrical fixtures.

4. Motorists are urged to drive carefully, as lighting poles have been installed along several major roads and circles.

For electricity-related issues or emergencies during the festival, the public can contact the 24×7 helpline at 1912.

The launch event was attended by MLA and CESC Chairman Ramesh Babu Bandisiddegowda, Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikant Reddy, CESC Managing Director K.M. Munigopal Raju, ZP CEO Ukesh Kumar, City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, SP N. Vishnuvardhana, Municipal Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif and CESC Superintendent Engineer Sunil, Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee Vice-Chairperson Dr. Pushpa Amarnath, among others.
