Koppal District Minister invites Gavimutt Seer to inaugurate Dasara; Mysuru District Administration to formally extend invitation on Oct. 3

Mysuru: Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi, who is also Koppal District Minister, invited Sri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Mahaswamiji of Gavimutt, Koppal, to inaugurate the Mysuru Dasara festivities this year.

The Minister met the Seer at Gavimutt in Koppal this morning and invited him to inaugurate Dasara Nada Habba-2026.

He said, the presence and blessings of revered Seers would add grandeur and dignity to the world-famous Mysuru Dasara and further enhance its cultural and spiritual significance.

The Seer accepted the State Government’s invitation and consented to inaugurate the Dasara festivities.

Minister Tangadagi offered fruits and flowers to the Seer and sought his blessings.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the Mysuru District Administration, District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, Deputy Commissioner and Dasara Special Officer G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, along with members of the Dasara Reception Sub-Committee, will visit Gavimutt in Koppal on Oct. 3 at 11 am to formally invite Sri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Swamiji to inaugurate Dasara.

MP K. Rajashekar Basavaraj Hitnal, MLA K. RaghavendraHitnal, Koppal District Congress President Mallikarjun Nagappa, Legislative Council member Basanagouda Badarli and Koppal Deputy Commissioner Suresh Itnal were present in today’s event at Koppal.

Rumours dismissed

Gavimutt has dismissed as false the rumours circulating on social media that Sri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Mahaswamiji had declined the invitation to inaugurate Dasara owing to the ongoing industrial agitation.

The Mutt said, the Seer had been observing a period of silence for the past week, which ended on Saturday afternoon. It alleged that some of his opponents were spreading false information to create confusion.

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar had earlier invited Sri Abhinava Gavisiddeshwara Mahaswamiji to inaugurate the Dasara  and the Seer has accepted the invitation, the Mutt clarified.

Describing it as a matter of pride that Gavishree would inaugurate Dasara, the Mutt said neither Gavimutt nor the Seer had issued any statement rejecting the invitation. It appealed to people not to believe rumours being circulated on social media.
