Dasara Kannada Book Mela from Oct. 15 to 23

‘Selfie with Sahiti’ new attraction; prominent writers, dignitaries to attend event daily

Mysore/Mysuru: Kannada and Culture Department in association with Kannada Book Authority and Mysuru Dasara Festival Committee-2023 has organised ‘Mysuru Dasara Kannada Book Sales Mela – 2023’ from Oct. 15 to 23 at Oval Grounds near old Deputy Commissioner’s Office in the city.

Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj S. Thangadagi will inaugurate the Mela on Oct. 15 at 5 pm.

Prominent writers and dignitaries will be participating in the Mela daily, while the public visiting the Mela will be having a privilege to take a selfie with writers under the concept ‘Selfie with Sahiti’. That apart various cultural programmes are also organised as part of the event in the evening hours.

Oct.15: Folk songs by singer N. Basavaiah and troupe, Mysuru.

Oct. 16: ‘Nage Nudi’ (Humour Talk) by Prof. M. Krishnegowda and troupe, Mysuru.

Oct. 17: Staging of ‘Kamsavadhe’ prasanga by Gana Sourabha Yakshagana School, Bengaluru.

Oct. 18: Theatre songs by Y.M. Puttannaiah and troupe, Mysuru.

 Oct. 19: Light Music by Dr. M. Khasim Mallige and troupe, Bengaluru.

Oct. 20: Dance performance by B. Usha, Bengaluru.

Oct. 21: Documentary by Gangadhara Murthy, Mysuru.

Oct. 22: Lecture on ‘Variety of Sculptures in Karnataka’ by Dr. Raghavendra H. Kulkarni,          Bengaluru.
