As part of Grameena Dasara, a Dasara sports competition for farmers and women has been organised at Varuna village in the taluk on Sept.26.

The Sports Meet will take place at 9 am at Government High School premises in Varuna.

The contests for men include slush field running race, gunny bag race, running with fertilizer bag, weight-lifting etc. while the contests for women include lemon and spoon race, water pot race, gunny bag race, single leg run, banana eating, tug-of-war etc., according to a release from the Joint Director of Agriculture.
