Dasara’s youngest jumbo injured in wild elephant attack

Mysuru: 17-year-old Bheema, the youngest elephant which took part in this year’s Jumboo Savari for the first time, has been injured in a fight with a wild elephant near Mattigodu Elephant Camp coming under Nagarahole National Park, recently.

Bheema had collapsed on the spot and was shifted to the camp with the help of other elephants after it had sustained injuries on his trunk and back when the wild elephant attacked him when he was grazing in the forest area since two days.

Sources said that Bheema was responding to the treatment and is out of danger.

Bheema, the youngest of Dasara elephants, was also projected as the future Howdah elephant.
