‘Dasasourabha’ by Vidwan Anantha Kulkarni enthrals music-lovers at BVB

Mysore/Mysuru: Vidwan Anantha Kulkarni presented ‘Dasasourabha’ music concert, infusing new life to the devotional songs of Dasa literature, as part of the monthly music programme, organised jointly by Infosys Foundation and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), Bengaluru-Mysuru Centres, at  BVB’s Prof. Y.T.  Thathachari auditorium in Vijayanagar I Stage in the city on Saturday.

The concert was the 124th cultural outreach programme held at BVB that captivated music-

lovers for over two hours.

Vid. Kulkarni sang in Hindustani Classical Music style and his rendition of “Besarave Bhajisiro Purandara Dasarayara…’ composed by Vijayadasa, re-telling the life story of Purandaradasa.

Anantha Kulkarni, hailing from a traditional family in Bagalkot, had developed a profound                 fascination for music from a very young age.

He was accompanied by Vishnu Joshi on tabla, Ashwin Walawalkar on harmonium and Sudhanva Kamalapur on taala.

BVB Mysuru Hon. Secretary  P.S. Ganapathy, Treasurer Dr. A.T. Bhashyam, Executive Committee Member Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra, Administrative Officer S.R. Ravikumar, BVB School Principal S. Lekha Nair, Music teacher Suma Harinath and  others were present.
