Day-long ViVaCious-E Technical Project expo held at VVCE

Unmanned Vehicle Robot developed by final semester Mechanical Engineering students.

Mysuru: ViVaCious, a day-long expo of E Technical Projects of final semester engineering students of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE) was inaugurated at the College premises here on Thursday. The final semester students of Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Electricals and Electronics, Civil Engineering and other branches have displayed more than 100 working models of their projects which will be adjudged by jury members from various industries, companies and academic institutions.

Speaking after inaugurating the expo, Dr. Sundaresan Krishnan Iyer, Principal of Education and Research, Infosys Limited, Bengaluru, said that engineers should contribute good to the country, which would help in solving various problems.

He said that the engineers should question themselves regarding what they have contributed to the society and added that they should use the latest technology to uplift the downtrodden. Dr. Sundaresan called upon the engineering students of all departments to come together and conduct research to find out new things, which are beneficial to the society.

Stating that segregation of wastes was the biggest challenge in the country, he called upon the students to help solve the problem by keeping good and healthy environment in mind.

He asked the students to develop skills, knowledge and attitude which would make them employable, as candidates possessing these were in great demand.

Working models such as Unmanned Amphibious Aeromobile with Cam, which is capable of flying at a height of 400 metres and useful in monitoring the country’s borders, Pedal Operated Salt Water Purifier and Unmanned Vehicle Robot developed by final semester Mechanical Engineering students, Signature Identity Software, developed by final semester Electronics and Communication student R. Supritha, which can detect forgery, Plastic Bottle Crusher and other models were on display and the models were demonstrated by the students who had developed them.

The prizes for the best projects were given later in the day.

Vidyavardhaka Sangha President Gundappa Gowda, Treasurer S.N. Lakshminarayana, Principal Dr. Sadashive Gowda, Deans of various departments D.B. Krishnappa, Dr. D.J. Ravi, Dr. Shobha Shankar, Dr. L.J. Sudev, Dr. V. Ravikumar, Dr. A.B. Rajendra and others were present.
