Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep, who heads the District Kannada Vigilance Committee, chaired a meeting at his office here on Tuesday.
Discussions were held on various topics like visiting selected Government offices in the district once in a fortnight to create awareness among the staff on usage of Kannada as administrative language, taking steps to ensure all Government transactions were in Kannada and appealing business establishments to compulsorily use Kannada signboards.
A decision was taken to organise a day-long workshop for officers who could not converse in Kannada. It was also decided to constitute Kannada Vigilance Committees at taluk levels headed by Tahsildars to enforce the usage of Kannada in administration. Earlier, DC Randeep exchanged pleasantries with Maddikere Gopal, S.R.
