DC directs Commercial Tax officials to keep eye on suspicious transactions

Mysuru:  With the Election Commission (EC) focusing on strict enforcement of Model Code of Conduct, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Darpan Jain has directed Commercial Tax Officers to keep an eye on suspicious and unusually high transactions.

Addressing a meeting of Poll Expenses Observers at his office here yesterday, Darpan Jain said that traders should have supporting documents of all their financial and business transactions and must have a printed copy of the bills issued to customers.

Ponting out that it was essential to keep a tab on all transactions exceed Rs.1 Lakh, the DC asked the officials to keep a tab on suspicious bank accounts.

The DC directed the bank officials to inform Nodal Officers about those bank accounts from which transactions exceeding Rs. 10 lakh have taken place.

He further instructed the officials to submit reports daily if unusually high and suspicious transactions are found.
