Mysuru: With the State Government determined to implement Ration Guarantee Scheme across the State, DC D. Randeep has directed the officials to ensure that ration articles are distributed to the beneficiaries in the first week of every month.
Randeep, who chaired a meeting of officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department at his office recently, said that the State Government has instructed to effectively implement the Scheme. But the lack of determination by the Department officials had hindered timely distribution of ration, he said and warned the officials against laxity.
Pointing out that ration articles must be made available to all ration shops in the first week of every month, he asked the officials to make sure that stocks are cleared by the 20th of every month and to issue allotments.
Stating that door delivery of ration cards will be taken up in July, August and September in Mysuru district, he directed the Food Inspectors and Food Shirastedars to prepare a time-table and stick on to it.
Food & Civil Supplies Deputy Director Dr. Rameshwarappa said ration articles for the month of May have been distributed and measures are taken for completing June quota. He further said that distribution of ration cards to those who have applied online has already begun.
Government Employees Association District President H.K. Ramu and other officials attended the meeting.
