Mysore/Mysuru: Highlighting the importance of taking competitive exams for a professional career in Government service, DCP Pradeep Gunti advised the aspirants to use social media limitedly and not waste much time in other social media platforms.

He was speaking after inaugurating the coaching classes for the written exam for the recruitment of PSIs conducted by the Competitive Exams Coaching Centre of KSOU at Kaveri Auditorium in Muktagangothri campus on Hunsur Road here on Friday.

Pointing out that it is significant to note that the number of PSI aspirants attending coaching classes is increasing every year, Gunti said that it is important for the candidates to follow the instructions they get in coaching class. 

Noting that appointment as PSI will not be the last exam for the aspirants, he said that the candidates must understand that after joining the Police force, they have to face a variety of exams all along their career. He also called upon the aspirants to hone their skills and use it in                           departmental service.

Recalling his selection as an IPS officer, Pradeep Gunti said that he is the son of a teacher and started preparations for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam in right earnest after completion of his studies. 

Pointing out that he passed the IPS exam twice, first when he was selected for Manipur cadre and for Karnataka cadre in his second successful attempt, he said that he has been serving in Karnataka for the past 5 years. Success comes with a lot of hard work and total commitment, he added. 

KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar, in his address, said that students after completing their education, will set out their career goals. Underling the importance of commitment, concentration and continuity in the preparations for the exam, he stressed on the need for relentless studies and practice of past question papers.

KSOU Registrar Prof. R. Rajanna, Registrar (Evaluation) Prof. K.M. Mahadevan, Coaching Centre Co-ordinator Jainahalli Satyanarayana Gowda and others were present.
