Debate Contest by Dinesh Coaching Centre: BVB bags overall champions shield

Mysuru: Over 70 students from various Schools of the district took part in the District-level Inter-High School Kannada Debate Contest organised by Dinesh Coaching Centre at Rotary West auditorium in Saraswathipuram yesterday.

Winners of the contest held on the topic ‘Makkalalli    Samajika Javabdhari Belesuvalli Shalegaliginta Kutumbada Pathrave Hechhu’ (The role of family is more than  schools in developing social responsibilities among children) are as follows:

V. Ananya of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) – First prize (Rs.2,000); Anuradha of JSS High School, Suttur – second prize (Rs.1,500); V. Himani of Marimallappa High School – third prize (Rs.1,000); N. Disha of Kautilya Vidyalaya and M. Deepak of Sharada Public School – consolation prize (Rs.500).

Overall Championship Shield was bagged by BVB School.

Earlier, speaking after inaugurating the contest, M.N. Mohan Kumar, retired Assistant at Karnataka Electricity Board (KEB), explained the need of extra curricular activities along with the curriculum. Stating that debating improves the ability to understand any topic better, he explained the importance of values in life.
