Mysuru: Vivekananda Institute of Indian Studies (VIIS), a unit of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) in collaboration with ILR School, Cornell University, USA, has organised a debate workshop for High School students from June 10 to 14 at the institute premises in Hebbal.
The workshop is designed with a blended learning model and students will be divided into groups led by the Debate Coach. The Coach will teach all aspects of debate from argument building to refutation strategy.
Estefania Palacios, Director of Outreach, Speech and Debate Society, ILR School, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, will be the Debate Coach.
At the end of the workshop, all students will participate in the debate tournament with one team crowned as champions. Two of the girls participating in the workshop would be invited to travel to Cornell University for the International Summer Debate Camp.
