Mysuru Beauticians Welfare Association urges State Govt.

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru Beauticians Welfare Association has urged the State Government to declare them (Beauticians) as a separate category and provide necessary financial help. 

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Association President K. Vedavathi N. Rai said, “During pandemic since 2020, we had to pay huge rents in spite of salons being closed. Many of us had family responsibilities and EMI to be paid. 85% of women in this profession are bread-earners but we did not get any support.”

“A separate category for beauticians has to be declared and the State Government should provide funds and package to beauticians. The continuous pandemic has devastated women entrepreneurs, as many were forced to close the salons. No compensation or relief package is given by the State Government,” she rued.

A memorandum has already been submitted to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa with our just demands, she said and added that the CM had promised to look into it.
