‘Dejagow was a down to earth teacher and administrator’

Litterateur’s birth anniversary celebrated

Mysuru: Marking the birth anniversary of former Vice-Chancellor and writer late D. Javaregowda (Dejagow), Kuvempu Vidyavardhaka Trust and Employees of Kuvempu Vidya Parishat, had organised a programme at the Trust premises in Jayalakshmipuram here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, after offering floral tributes to a portrait of Dejagow, District Minister G.T. Devegowda opined that the names of Kuvempu and Dejagow cannot be erased from University of Mysore. He hailed Dejagow as a down to earth teacher and administrator loved by all and not just the students. 

He opined that education is supreme and asked rural students to pursue education with determination.

Parishat President Dr. D.K. Rajendra suggested that a statue of Dejagow should be installed in front of the Senate Bhavan.

Trust President Dr. J. Shashidar Prasad, Littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishna Kumar, Sanskrit University VC Dr. Padma Shekar, Senior Researcher H.K. Rajegowda and others were present during the occasion.
