‘Delhi, Mysuru home for dengue’

July 4, 2017

Bengaluru: The national capital Delhi and the culture city Mysuru have become home to dengue, remarked Health Family Welfare Minister Ramesh Kumar.

Coming down hard on the local officials, he said that it is due to their inefficiency that the dengue fever is spreading. As soon as the rainy season started, there was an increase in the cases of dengue in Bengaluru, Mysuru and Vijayapura and especially in Mysuru, the incidence of dengue is on the rise day by day. However, efforts are on to control the spread of dengue, he said addressing a press conference, here yesterday.

Due to lack of sufficient rain in spite of the commencement of monsoon, the mosquito menace has increased and including dengue there is a spread of other viral diseases. If the local units take advance care and give importance to the control of the disease, then it can be prevented. Our aim and even that of the Municipalities and the corporation is its prevention. Including providing platelets to the patients other facilities will be provided to them, he said.

In a lighter vein, Ramesh Kumar, taking a dig at the Department, said, “The reason for the failure in prevention of spreading of dengue is because we have some bed bugs in our own Department.”
