Mysuru: Continuing their awareness campaign to sensitise the residents on the measures to be taken for preventing dengue and other vector-borne diseases, the Department of Health and Family Welfare and MCC today undertook a door-to-door campaign at Nehru Nagar near Sathagalli KSRTC Depot, coming under MCC Ward 56.
Forming four teams, students of Shantaveri Gopala Gowda Nursing College and staff of Primary Health Centre (PHC), Jockey quarters, visited every household in the locality, distributing pamphlets and educating the residents on the precautionary measures to be taken for preventing vector-borne diseases.
Even as the teams set out for distributing pamphlets, MCC civic workers went about removing bushes and weeds, cleaning drainages and other cleanliness works in the locality. Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep visited the area and inspected the cleaning works.
DHO Dr. Basavaraj, MCC Health Officers Dr. Nagaraj and Dr. Zahare Tabassum, MCC Zone-9 AC Puttaseshagiri, Jockey Quarters PHC in-charge Dr. Nalini and other officials were present.
