Derogatory post against PM Modi: Youth arrested

Malavalli: A youth from Kirugavalu village in Malavalli taluk of Mandya district has been arrested by the Police on charges of posting a derogatory post against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media, over the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan.

The accused has been identified as Javeed Pasha, aged 24 and was arrested by Kirugavalu Police yesterday, after booking a suo motu case against him.

Pasha, in his social media post, had shared a video received from somebody else, posing a threat to the overall unity of the country amid the tense situation at India-Pakistan border and insulting the portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to M. Mahesh of Kirugavalu Police Station.

BJP leaders Dr. Siddaramaiah, C.T. Manjunath and several other leaders had visited the Police Station seeking a stringent action against the accused.
