Front door leading to a nice entryway can promote a smooth flow of energy and serve as a grounding transition between the outer and inner world.

The terms Feng Shui design and Feng Shui decorating are not the same although they may appear to convey the same message. There is most certainly a subtle difference between the two, hence Feng Shui designs of a building is quite crucial in ensuring good flow of energy.

The adaptation of Feng Shui design could extend beyond the framework of a regular building design as it can be used to enhance the interiors, furnishing, decor and other aspects of the design elements in a given space.

Feng Shui can be used in decorating your house with the goal of creating a loving, supportive, fun and happy home.

A simple approach to Feng Shui would be in terms of providing the right plot levels, setbacks, proper layout and allocation of rooms. How do we go about this?

The basic understanding to allocate rooms in the right sectors is a step after getting to know the interpretation of the magnetic fields and compass directions. Presuming that one has got to know the axis of the plot and located the cardinal magnetic directions, it becomes a lot easier to design a home as per Feng Shui tenets.

Feng Shui reminds us of the basic relationship between earth, man and cosmos. By adapting these principles our lives, we can create a healthy environment with harmonious living and working environment.

A good Feng Shui design adaptation in a building means that it is built with a good flow of energy in mind which is beneficial to the occupants and gives them the benefits.

Normally we can classify a well-designed Feng Shui house as one which has

  • No front door aligned directly with the back door.
  • Toilet above main door.
  • Toilets beneath staircase.
  • Bedrooms submerged beneath normal ground level.
  • Bedroom above the garage.
  • Staircase facing main door.
  • Toilets above kitchen and directly above the bed position in the bedroom.

In addition we also need to ensure that the house is built for good air circulation and allows maximum natural light into the rooms. A very important Feng Shui concept regarding the front door of either a house or a business is that the front door should always open inwards, and not outwards. A front door opening outwards is pushing away most good energy, thus the house cannot benefit from good Feng Shui. Ideally, your front door leading to a nice entryway can promote a smooth flow of energy and serve as a grounding transition between the outer and inner world.

However, if there are homes with bad Feng Shui design, some of them can be controlled and corrected using simple Feng Shui remedies. Like for example, you can sure bring air-purifying plants and adapt smart lighting — to overcome lack of proper window placements.

To conclude, Feng Shui design is the process that goes into the initial stages of building or renovating a house, while Feng Shui decorating can be done at anytime by using appropriate Feng Shui cures.
