Mysuru: City’s Desiranga Samskruthika Trust will be conducting a two-day theatre festival Jan. 6 and Jan. 8 at Kirurangamandira in Kalamandira premises, said Trust President Krishna Janamana.
Addressing the press persons at Pathrakarthara Bhavan, he said that the plays will be staged by students who had attended the acting workshop organised by the Trust.
The theatre festival will be inaugurated by Progressive Thinker N. Diwakar at 6 pm. Senior Theatre Person D. Nagendra Kumar will be the chief guest.
Department of Kannada and Culture Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy will preside. This will be followed by the staging of the play ‘Akka’ written by Lingadevaru Halemane.
The valedictory event will be held on Jan. 8. Mysuru District Journalists Association President K. Deepak will deliver the valedictory address. Senior Theatre Person K.J. Kikkeri Narayana will distribute certificate to the students. Later, the play ‘Yana’ will staged. Entry tickets for show is priced at Rs. 100 each. Trust Secretary B.S. Dinamani was present at the press meet.
