Sir,
The condition of Mahadevapura Main Road (Azeez Sait Road) continues to deteriorate, despite repeated complaints drawing attention to the issue. The stretch has become increasingly unsafe due to the unchecked presence of autorickshaws. Many are parked haphazardly, while others are driven in blatant violation of traffic rules. Instances of wrong-side driving, sudden turns, abrupt stops and overspeeding have become common, putting both pedestrians and motorists at risk.
The situation is further aggravated by the indiscriminate dumping of garbage along the roadside. Apart from creating unhygienic conditions, the waste attracts stray cattle, which are frequently seen feeding on it. Their presence on the busy road has added to safety concerns, with the risk of accidents rising.
Equally worrying is the near absence of functional streetlights. Large portions of the road remain in darkness after dusk, making commuting hazardous and increasing the possibility of accidents and crime. Despite multiple representations, residents say there has been little to no action from the authorities.
We urge the Mysuru City Corporation and the Traffic Police to step in immediately to regulate traffic, clear garbage, address the stray cattle menace and restore street lighting without further delay.
