Determination most important to realise one’s dreams: KSOU VC

Mysuru: Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vidyashankar said that determination coupled with will power was vital to realise one’s dreams. He was speaking at the farewell programme for IAS/ KAS and other competitive exams aspirants who underwent training at Jnanabuthi in Lakshmipuram Government PU College and High School premises here yesterday.

Pointing out that it was heartening to note that more and more number of candidates from rural areas were taking interest in competitive exams, Prof. Vidyashankar called upon the aspirants to develop ‘competitive spirit’ for success in life.

Noting that motivation is key for achieving anything, he stressed on the need for shredding our negativity and march towards achieving our set goals.

Maintaining that one need not go to Delhi for Civil Services exam such as IAS and IPS, he said that one can study anywhere and it is determination, dedication and concentration that hold the key to success.

He further said that there were many who have achieved success after getting trained in coaching centres at cities and towns.

Writer and humorist Prof. M. Krishnegowda, in his address, regretted that education in our country has not reached the expected heights post  Independence.

Pointing out that people must realise that acquiring knowledge is greater than money and power, he said that such realisation will go a long way in pushing for an ‘educational revolution’ of sorts.

DCF Dr. K.C. Prashanth Kumar interacted with the aspirants.

Vidyavardhaka College former faculty Devaraj, KAS officer Ballenahalli Shankar, Prof. Vijay, Prof. Ganesh, Jananbuthi’s Jainahalli Sathyanarayanagowda, H. Balakrishna and others were present.
