Determined to leave Congress, Vishwanath attacks Siddharamaiah again

Mysuru: Ridiculing Chief Minister Siddharamaiah for  his reported remarks that no State Congress leader had helped him in joining the party and that AICC General Secretary Ahmed Patel played a crucial role in his entry to the Congress, former MP and Senior Congress leader A.H. Vishwanath has claimed that many senior leaders like him were now repenting for having helped Siddharamaiah.

Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here this morning, Vishwanath said that Siddharamaiah’s arrogance has grown bigger after the recent Nanjangud, Gundlupet by-polls victory. Recalling that Siddharamaiah who was expelled from JD(S) had convened a meeting of all Kuruba community leaders at the residence of one Konanakunte Lakshman in Bengaluru on June 19, 2005, Vishwanath said that many community leaders including him had attended the meeting to make serious efforts for Siddharamaiah’s entry to the party.

But Siddharamaiah seems to have forgotten everything in the past, he said and added that the CM  did not have the courtesy of thanking senior Congress leaders who had worked hard for  party’s victory in Nanjangud and Gundlupet by-polls.

Terming the CM as a liar, he claimed that Siddharamaiah had insulted senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge and others who had made efforts to bring him to the party.

To a question of him joining JD(S), Vishwanath said he would not say anything for now.
