Dhruvanarayan chairs District Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee meeting

Mysuru: The meeting of the District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee was held at Zilla Panchayat (ZP) premises in city on Tuesday.

Chairing the meeting, Chamarajanagar MP R. Dhruvanarayan asked the officials to tour the villages at least once a month to get a feel of the problems there. He suggested the Forest Department officials to provide permission to electrify tribal hamlets.

The MP drew the attention of Taluk Panchayat (TP) Executive Officers over the defunct internet facility at many Gram Panchayats  (GPs) which was disrupting works. BSNL officials clarified that 3G and 4G networks would soon be provided to solve the problem. Nanjangud TP President complained that the Nanjangud Hospital was functioning without a Physician for the last four years, to which, the MP instructed District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. B. Basavaraj to immediately refer the issue to the higher-ups and appoint a Physician at the earliest.

Power Network Development: Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Superintending Engineer Narasimhegowda, briefing the meeting, said that the Union Government had approved a project with an outlay of Rs. 51.21 crore to develop power distribution network in nine cities and towns in the district. He added that the survey works had been completed and the actual works had begun.

He further said that the project would cover drawing a new 11KV line across all taluks, installation of transformers and distribution system. He added that solar equipment too would be installed in the project.

He further said that another Rs. 1.52 crore has been approved to develop Information Technology in the district.

Irked by the absence of a good number of District Officers in the meeting, MP Dhruvanarayan instructed ZP CEO P. Shivashankar to issue notices to them.
