Diamond necklace, earrings stolen from resort

Mumbai make-up artists suspected

Mysore/Mysuru: Make-up artists from Mumbai have been suspected of stealing a diamond necklace and earrings from a room during the wedding reception held at a resort on KRS Road in city on Nov. 19. The diamond necklace and earrings are valued at Rs. 8 lakh.

The family members of 58-year-old Rajendrakumar, residents of an apartment in Siddarthanagar, are the ones who lost the diamond jewellery. The wedding reception of Rajendrakumar’s son Vybhav was organised at a private resort on KRS Road on Nov. 19 for which make-up artists Nisha Chandini and GoyilKomal from Mumbai had come.

Rajendrakumar’s wife Santoshkumari, daughter Priyanka and would-be daughter-in-law Poorva had stayed in one of the rooms at the resort during which Priyanka had showed the diamond jewellery to the Mumbai make-up artists.

After getting the make-up done, Priyanka and Poorva attended the photo shoot and later went to the reception venue. Santoshkumari, who also got her make-up done, left the make-up artists in the room and came to the reception venue. At about 8 pm, the two make-up artists locked the room, gave the room key to Santoshkumari and left for Mumbai.

The next day morning, Priyanka, who checked her bag, found the diamond jewellery missing and suspecting that the two make-up artists from Mumbai may have stolen the jewellery, Rajendrakumar lodged a complaint with Vijayanagar Police, who have registered a case and are investigating.
