Mysuru: DVK Murthy Prakashana and Sriranga Digital Software Technologies Private Limited (SDSTPL), Srirangapatna, together had organised a programme at Institution of Engineers on JLB Road here on Sunday for the launch of e-books of 130 books brought out by DVK Murthy Publications.
Launching the e-books, Kannada Sahitya Parishat State President Dr. Manu Baligar said that the Head Office of the multinational e-commerce company Amazon is located in Bengaluru but regretted that the organisation is not coming forward to market Kannada books which is a clear indication of disinterest of Kannadigas over the language of the soil.
He lauded the contribution of DVK Murthy, a scholarly publisher who promoted Kannada literature very well. He congratulated the successor Anirudh Dwarakanath in expanding the business to digital world.
Continuing, Manu Baligar recalled that senior writers K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi and Dr. Chandrashekar Kambara had long back worked on technological improvements of Kannada script. He felt that following DVK publications, others too should follow suit in digitisation for which he assured of full support from Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
Karnataka Anuvada Sahitya Academy Chairman Dr. Pradhan Gurudatta presided. SJCE Mathematics Professor Dr. C.S. Yoganand and others were present.
