Director T.S. Nagabharana launches play ‘Thabarana Kathe’ in city

Mysuru: “The play ‘Thabarana Kathe’ is a clear representation of the working style of the Government exposing the present problems of the society,” opined Director T.S. Nagabharana.

He was speaking after launching the play ‘Thabarana Kathe’ of K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi organised by Mahesh Theatre Group at Kalamandira    here yesterday.

Nagabharana lauded the play as an excellent portrayal of the troubles faced by a retired Government clerk Thabara when his (Thabara) pension and gratuity were unduly held up for alleged non-performance during service. Situation worsens with Thabara’s wife succumbing to diabetic complications, he said commending R. Nagesh for evolving the script for the play from the original novel.

Columnist Gubbigudu Ramesh opined that theatre was the right tool to create awareness among people on social evils.

Rangayana Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, artiste M. Krishnappa, Producer Mahesh Nanjaiah and Convenor C. Chandrashekar were present during the inaugural.

The play ‘Thabarana Kathe’  will be staged once again today at Kalamandira in city today at 7 pm.
