Mysore/Mysuru: The disciples and admirers of Vid. Nagabhushanachar (1934 – 2020), a renowned mridanga artiste and teacher of yesteryears in the city, are organising a music programme in memory of their Guru at the residence of Mysore Vasudevacharya in city on Mar. 15.
The programme is being held on the occasion of the 6th death anniversary of the artiste, who also served as lecturer at the University Fine Arts College for nearly four decades and inspired a number of youngsters to pursue a career in music.
The programme will feature a vocal concert by Vid. N. Srinath, accompanied by Vid. M.R. Srikanth on violin, Vid. M.R. Udaya Kumar on mridanga and Vid. M.S. Kiran on ghata. The concert, starting at 10.30 am, is open to all music enthusiasts.
Vid. Srinath, a disciple of Vidu. K.G. Kanakalakshmi, Dr. S. Ramanathan and Vid. R.N. Thyagarajan, is a senior artiste with a stage experience of over three decades.
Vid. Srikanth (disciple of Vid. Rajagopal and Vid. Tandavamurthy), Vid. Udaya Kumar (trained by Vid. Nagabhushanachar) and Vid. Kiran (son and disciple of Vid. M.S. Jayaram) are all well-known artistes of the city, having accompanied senior artistes.
