Mysore/Mysuru: Federation of Karnataka Milk Producers Cooperative Society Workers President Shivanagappa and General Secretary T.A. Subbarao have urged the State Government to distribute PPE kits to workers of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) and other such Unions in the State.
In their press statement released on Monday, they have also urged the State Government to provide compensation to families of Corona victims working in Milk Unions.
“In the State, over 14,705 cooperative societies have been functioning and nearly 45,000 members have been employed in these Societies. The infection is spreading fast in rural areas, but neither the Government nor the Milk Unions are providing any benefits or job security to them. Milk producers and dairy farmers are still working hard every day to collect milk in rural areas. The State Government should declare them as Corona Warriors as well as provide assurance and security to all Milk Union workers,” they urged.
