District Administration to take back Rajyotsava Award given to M.K. Ashok

Mysore/Mysuru: M.K. Ashok was presented with the District Kannada Rajyotsava Award for Social Service at the Rajyotsava function held at the Oval Grounds in city on Nov. 1 this year. The award was presented to him by District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa.

Following the assault by Newal Ashok on Sunday, the Kannada and Culture Department came to know that M.K. Ashok was also a rowdy-sheeter and Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Dr. M.D. Sudarshan said that the Rajyotsava Award given to M.K. Ashok will be taken back.

He further said that the name of M.K. Ashok was included in the list of Rajyotsava awardees in the last minute. As there was very little time, there was a delay in getting the Police report.

“Even Ashok had said that he does not have any case against him. But now, we have come to know that M.K. Ashok is a rowdy-sheeter and the District Administration has decided to get it clarified and take back the award,” Dr. Sudarshan added.
