District Congress donates Rs. 16.51 lakh to KPCC Disaster Fund

Mysore/Mysuru: Coming to the help of the poor and the needy during the COVID-19 lockdown, the Mysuru District Congress donated Rs.16.51 lakh  collected by it to the KPCC Disaster Fund.

A Congress delegation comprising former MP R. Dhruvanarayan, MLA Dr. Yathindra Siddharamaiah, MLC R. Dharmasena, former MLA Kalale Keshavamurthy, District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, K.R. Nagar Congress leader D. Ravishankar and others met KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar at Bengaluru on Wednesday and handed over the cheque to him.

Speaking on the occasion, Shivakumar complimented Mysuru District Congress for raising funds and said that the money will be utilised for feeding over 15,000 poor and needy persons for a month. He also lauded the efforts of the Mysuru Congress in forming Congress Task Force even at the taluk level, setting up of a helpline and starting a COVID-19 War Room.
