Dinesh Coaching Centre, Mysuru, has organised a District-level Kannada debate competition for High School students at Rotary West Auditorium in Saraswathipuram here on Aug. 21 at 9.30 am. Industrialist K.V. Anantha-shayana will inaugurate the programme.
The topic for the debate is ‘Chunavana samayadalli rajakiya pakshagalu ghoshisuvauchita bhagyagalu deshada abhivrudhige maraka’ (Free schemes and benefits announced by political parties during election time are harmful to country’s development). A team of two students from a School may participate in the contest where one from the team must speak supporting the topic while another must speak against the given topic. The time limit will be 3+1 minutes. Registrations must be done at the Coaching Centre Office on Maruthi Temple Road in Kuvempunagar before Aug. 19. There will be no entry fee.The winners will be presented with citation and cash prizes of Rs. 3,000 (first), Rs. 2,000 (second), Rs. 1, 000 (third) and Rs. 500 (2 consolation prizes).
