Mangaluru: Rotary Club of Mangalore Central, as part of Rotary movement awareness campaign, conducted their 19th Annual District-level Inter-Club Rotary Awareness Quiz contest on Feb. 28 at Hotel Moti Mahal in Mangaluru.
Rotary Club of Mysore Vijayanagar represented by Rtn. H.M. Harish bagged the prestigious Rotary Quiz Trophy while Rotary Club Puttur East represented by Rtn. Dr. Sooryanarayana and Rtn. Prameela Rao were declared runners-up; third place was secured by Rotary Club of Mangalore Seaside represented by K. Manohar and M.K. Ashok.
The Quiz was based exclusively on Rotary related affairs, matters and issues.
Mysuru-based eminent Industrialist and Rotary Past District Governor Rtn. Gururaj was the chief guest. In his address, he lauded Dr. Devdas Rai for conducting this quiz for the past 18 years and his invaluable contributions to Rotary Movement.
Later, he awarded the Rotary Glittering Trophy, Certificates and cash prizes of Rs. 3,000 to the winners and runners up.
In all, 12 Teams from Mysuru, Mangaluru, Surathkal, Deralakatte, Puttur, participated in this contest.
Rtn. Dr. Devdas Rai was the Quiz Master. Assistant Governor Rtn. K.M. Hegde, who was the guest of honour, released the weekly club news bulletin “Centor.”
Rotary Club of Mangalore Central President Rtn. Brian Pinto presided.
Secretary Rtn. Rajesh Seetharam presented the monthly report. Past President Rtn. Raj Gopal Rai proposed the vote of thanks.
