Mysuru: District-level sports and cultural competitions have been organised on Sept. 16 and 17 for senior citizens to commemorate World Senior Citizens Day-2026.
The cultural competitions will be held on Sept.16 at Yogakshema Kendra, Nimishambhanagar in city from 9 am.
Sports competitions will be held on Sept.17 from 9 am at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad. Separate competitions will be held for men and women aged between 60-69 and above 70 years. Singing and mono acting are held in cultural competitions while musical chair, fast walking and throwing ball into bucket competitions will be part of sports.
Registration is compulsory for those who want to participate in the competitions.
Participants for cultural competitions must register their names before 5 pm on Sept.15 by contacting Prabhuswamy on Mob:94484-25408 while sports participants can contact Manjunath on Mob: 97424-34753 for registration before 5 pm on Sept.16. Participants must provide age certificates on the day of competitions.
