District Minister seeks Rs.216 crore for development activities in district

Mysuru: A proposal has been submitted to the Public Works Department (PWD) to provide a fund of Rs. 216 crore for various development activities in the district including those for Dasara’ disclosed District In-charge Minister G.T. Devegowda.

Speaking to press persons after participating in the lunch programme for Mahouts and Kavadis at Palace premises here yesterday, Devegowda said that the funds would be utilised to develop the roads and tourist destinations in the district.

Referring to election of city Mayor, Devegowda said that it would take some more time for the coalition government to decide. He rubbished the rumours that disagreement in Congress quarters would destabilise the government.

He added that a formal invitation for Dasara would be extended to the Royal family shortly and the date would be finalised by the DC.
