Mysuru: Dr. Raghunath H. Alad, Chief Consultant Intensivist and Head, Department of Critical Care at Gopal Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital in Mysuru, was among the 69 achievers who received Mysuru District Kannada Rajyotsava Award during the 69th Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations held at Oval Grounds in city on Nov. 1.
Dr. Raghunath received the award from District In-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa.
Profile: A resident of K.C. Layout in city, Dr. Raghunath is a native of Ranebennur in Haveri district. Having graduated from JJM Medical College, Davanagere, in 2001, he completed his Post Graduation in Anaesthesiology from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMC&RI) in 2005 and completed Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM) by ISCCM during March 2008.
Dr. Raghunath completed European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (EDIC) during November, 2013; Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in September 2022 and Certificate Programme in Hospital Administration and Health Care Management (CPHAHM) in July 2023.
Having held various positions, Dr. Raghunath currently works as the Chief Consultant Intensivist and HoD of Critical Care at Gopal Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital in Mysuru. He is also the Director of Aarya Hospital in city and former President of Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM), Mysuru Chapter. After completing his Critical Care training in Coimbatore, he joined Apollo BGS Hospitals in Mysuru in 2008 before joining Gopal Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital in 2012 where he continues to serve till date. Dr. Raghunath was also instrumental in bringing Critical Care Forum to Mysuru in 2008.
