Divisional-level RMS SC/ST Employees Conference held

January 28, 2019

Mysuru:  The members of The All India Postal (Railway Mail Service Wing) RMS Employees Welfare Association, Bengaluru and All India Postal Department RMS Workers SC/ST Welfare Trust, Mysuru, have demanded  the Union Government to restore the earlier order of preferring local youths for various jobs and posts of Postal Department in Karnataka Circle only.

They also passed a resolution in this regard at the 2nd Divisional-level RMS SC/ST Employees Conference and CWC Meeting held on Jan.27 at the Platinum Jubilee Hall, J.K. Grounds in city.

They urged the authorities to stop recruiting the employees through UPSC exams.

They alleged that unemployed youths from the State will be deprived of employment opportunities and injustice will be meted out to them if the Postal Department stuck to its decision of recruiting candidates through UPSC. Moreover, it could be difficult to conduct the business in the State if people from non-Kannada speaking States are appointed in Karnataka.

They also accused that the shifting of Divisional Office of Railway Mail Service Wing (RMSW) to Mangaluru from Bengaluru had caused a lot of inconvenience to Mysuru Division districts. They also wanted the Centre to shift this Office to Mysuru and passed a resolution in this connection also.

They also demanded the Union Government to grant special leave for employees to attend all divisional, regional, State and All India Level Postal Employees Meeting and Conferences.

The Govt. must also convene the meeting of Department Employees once in every month to redress their grievances.
