Mysuru: Canine Club of Mysore, affiliated to The Kennel Club of India, has organised a National-Level Dog Show Competition in city on Oct. 13.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here this morning, Canine Club President B.P. Manjunath said that the competition is dedicated to late Siddaganga Seer Dr. Sri Shivakumara Swamiji and will be held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium from 9.30 am.
The competition will be inaugurated in the presence of District Minister V. Somanna, MLAs V. Sreenivasa Prasad, L. Nagendra, S.R. Mahesh and S.A. Ramdas, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, advocate Harish Hegde and others. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion. T. Preetham from Bengaluru and K.K. Trivedi from Lucknow will be the judges.
Manjunath further said that over 340 dogs from 35 breeds such as the largest Korean Dosa Mastiff and Lion Head Tibetan Terrier Mastiff, from three kg weighing Miniature Pinscher to over 100 kg weighing Saint Bernard, Great Dane, Doberman, German Shepherd and Golden Retriever, small dogs such as Pug, Lhasa Apso, Mudhol and other breeds will be taking part in the competition to be held in seven categories.
He said that at 8 pm, trophies will be given to the winning dogs in Best in Show Line and winners in groups. Prizes will also be given to Best Handler and Junior Handler by the Deputy Commissioner, City Police Commissioner, MUDA Commissioner, MCC Commissioner and others.
Manjunath said that microchip and information of the dog’s six previous generations was necessary for the dog to participate in the competition. For details, contact Mob: 98440-79165.
