Domestic workers seek a better deal

Mysuru: About 50 members of Akhila Karnataka Domestic Workers Trade Union (AKDWTU), under the aegis of Confederation of Free Trade Unions of India (CFTUI), took out a rally from Ramaswamy Circle to the DC’s office here yesterday and submitted a memorandum to the DC.

The members demanded a national policy for domestic workers incorporating minimum wages, social security benefits and other mandatory schemes usually applicable to organised sectors. The rally was led by AKDWTU leaders Indira, Nisha, Nagamma, Manjula, Lakshmi and Advisor Jerson.
