Donations pour in to combat COVID-19

In a bid to help the State Government fight COVID-19, donations from writers, politicians and individuals are pouring in to the PM and Chief Minister’s Relief Fund from city.

MLC Sandesh Nagaraj donated Rs. 1 crore from his MLC Fund and his one month’s salary of Rs. 1 lakh towards CM’s Relief Fund to Minister V. Somanna on Thursday as MP Pratap Simha, former Mayor Sandesh Swamy, N. Manjesh, Corporator Satvik, City BJP President Srivatsa, BJP leader B.P. Manjunath and others look on.

Jain Brothers of Prakash Jewellers, Mysuru, donating a cheque for Rs. 30 lakh to Minister Somanna towards PM CARES Fund. Also 51 cots were donated to the COVID Hospital in city.

Former Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) Member Dr. B.S. Krishnaprasad donated his one month pension of Rs. 66,500 to Minister V. Somanna.

Noted litterateur and Saraswathi Samman Awardee Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa handing over a cheque for Rs. 1 lakh to Minister V. Somanna on Thursday.

The office-bearers of Sri Krishnarajendra Co-operative Bank Ltd., Mysuru, donating a cheque for Rs. 1.5 lakh towards the CM’s Relief Fund on Wednesday.
