Mysuru: NR Congress MLA Tanveer Sait has lodged a complaint with the ACB (Anti Corruption Bureau) Police in connection with the alleged Rs.1.40 crore Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) double-billing scam related to M.G. Road development works. In his complaint filed with the ACB SP, Mysuru, Tanveer Sait has appealed the Police to probe the alleged Rs.1.40 crore double-billing scam, which was exposed by BJP Corporator B.V. Manjunath.
Following the allegations, a Fact-Finding Committee, headed by Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, was formed and soon after the Committee began a probe, the accused MCC officers Sunil Babu and Mohana Kumari, along with contractor Karigowda, tried to hush up the case by installing studs on M.G. Road and executing works on cross roads. But the accused were caught by the MCC officials, the complaint said.
The MLA appealed the ACB to register a suo-moto case for alleged misappropriation of funds (Rs.1.4 crore) in M.G. Road development works and to initiate action against the guilty.
Following the complaint, the ACB registered a case in this regard and began probe, with ACB Dy.SP Umesh G. Shet visiting the MCC and gathering the relevant records. Meanwhile, it is learnt that Tanveer Sait has also lodged a complaint with Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G. Sankar regarding the alleged scam.
