Mysuru: City’s tennis prodigy Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar continued here winning spree by emerging victorious in both Singles and Doubles Tournament of Under-14 Asian Tennis Championship held at Bahrain, recently.

In first round of the Singles Tournament, Padmapriya got bye. In the second round, she defeated Victoria Karpenko (RUS) in straight sets 6-0, 6-1. She overcame Serah Bermas (PHI) 6-0, 6-0 in the quarter-finals and in semi-finals Padmapriya defeated Fatima Albaajari (Saudi Arabia) 6-0, 6-1. In the final, she won against Sophia Bader (BAH) 6-1,6-1 to lift the coveted trophy.

In the Doubles Tournament, Padmapriya, pairing with Victoria Karpenko of Russia, defeated Sophia Bader and Sarah Bermas (BAH) 6-2, 6-2 in the finals to emerge as champions.
