Double Site Allotment Case: Allottee returns one site to MUDA, seeks action against officials

Mysuru: A site allottee in city, who had been allegedly allotted two sites by Mysore Urban Development authority (MUDA) 14 years ago has returned one site to MUDA and has also sought action against the officials concerned.

MUDA had reportedly allotted a 40ftx30ft site bearing site number 1572 at Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar on May 14, 2005 and another site measuring 20ftx30ft at Shantaveri Gopala Gowda Nagar bearing number 2035 on July 14 to Rajeshwari, wife of M.R. Venkatesh, a resident of Nazarbad here.

Rajeshwari was said to have taken possession of the two sites in 2010 after remitting the prescribed amount to MUDA.

Right To Information (RTI) activist Nagendra reportedly disclosed the issue before the media on Oct. 25 alleging that MUDA had illegally allotted two sites to a person.

Consequently, Rajeshwari is said to have returned the site at Shantaveri Gopala Gowda Nagar to MUDA along with the documents. She has claimed action against MUDA officials for allowing the RTI Activist to defame her.
