Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. A.P. Jnana Prakash, Professor, Physics Department, University of Mysore (UoM), has been appointed as the Registrar (Evaluation) of the University.

R. Mahesh, Under-Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department, Government of Karnataka, has issued orders on behalf of the Governor of Karnataka, appointing Dr. A.P. Jnana Prakash as the new Registrar, under the Karnataka State Universities Act.

Dr. Jnana Prakash took charge at Crawford Hall recently. Prof. K.M. Mahadevan, who was till now serving as the Registrar (Evaluation) of the University, has returned to his parent Kuvempu University.

Dr. Jnana Prakash obtained his Ph.D from Mangalore University in 2002 and obtained his M.Sc. and M.Phil. Degree from Gulbarga University.  He has obtained his Post-Doctoral Fellowship from National Science Council, Government of Taiwan and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, USA. 

He has published a book and has written more than 100 research papers that have been published in several journals of international repute.
